In his role as Eastern Area Sales Director at Intersil Corp., ROAR founder Ken Wood directly managed the business development activities in Eastern North America (top revenue-producing area) for a newly transformed, programmable/mixed signal semiconductor subsidiary. In this position, he led a 5 member direct sales team and eight independent manufacturer’s representative firms ranging from Eastern Canada to Mexico.

Key accomplishments:

  • Ken captured proprietary product design wins totaling $10 million at Top Tier telecommunications accounts including Lucent Technologies, JDS Uniphase, Motorola, Nortel Networks, and Alcatel.
  • Ken improved manufacturer’s representative and distribution channel forecast accuracy and accountability by 40% through the creation and implementation of unique critical management database tools.


During the time I worked for Ken he was a very supportive manager. He focused on strategic objectives, but he also kept up with the day-to-day tactical aspects of running a sales region. His affable personality helped greatly during the downturn in the semiconductor industry in the early 2000's. He kept morale high and concentrated on tackling the tasks with the highest return on investment.
